Why We Monitor & Pull Weeds

It's crucial to stop the spread!

  • Some weeds spread like wildfire & win the battle for soil, nutrients, light & space
  • Noxious weeds spread readily and compete with our native plants
  • Washington Counties, Farmers, and Ranchers spend millions to control them
  • Farms & Ranches can lose millions in potential production
  • Some are poisonous to animals including farm animals
  • They can spread to uninhabited islands

Committee Charter

  • Inform & Educate on currently targeted noxious weeds, neighbor responsibilities, and native plant alternatives
  • Build Community by meeting with neighbors to understand questions & suggestions
  • Organize Volunteers to walk neighborhood roads and identify targeted weeds
  • Organize Volunteer Days to pull targeted noxious weeds in the neighborhood

All noxious weeds are invasive. All pose economic/environmental hazard if allowed to spread.
